Project Management

Phase I – Upgrade Assessment Pack (UAP)

SYSTIME’s UAP helps you define your upgrade strategy and timeline, and identify tasks that need to be completed prior to starting the upgrade. At the end of the assessment, SYSTIME delivers comprehensive documentation called a UAP Report that analyses the important dimensions associated with an upgrade viz. CNC, retrofitting and functional features. This analysis considers the unique scenario that exists at each enterprise’s site. The biggest benefit the customer derives from UAP is the intensive planning that helps in reducing time and saving costs. Project Flow

UAP Report components

  • Business drivers, upgrade objectives
  • Process improvement recommendations
  • Architecture component analysis
  • Project plan with related activities and high level estimates
  • Identification and documentation of scope of upgrade project
  • Upgrade approach.

Phase II – Technical Upgrade, Retrofit & Testing

Retrofitting Resource Requirements In the second phase of the upgrade, further technical information is gathered that solidifies the upgrade approach and plan. Retrofitting plan is prepared for migration of the modifications. Intensive retrofit analysis helps the customer to reduce customizations and be future-ready.

Phase III – Implementation & Go-Live

A Readiness Assessment exercise along with detailed Go-Live planning is performed prior to the Go-Live. To be geared up for any contingencies, a fall-back plan is also prepared.

Post Go-Live Support

In case of any problems or issues that may arise post the Go-Live date of the new system, SYSTIME keeps its upgrade experts readily available for trouble-shooting and fast resolution. Incident reports are created for each reported issue and quick resolutions are executed to ensure minimal production interruption. During this time, project wrap-up activities (such as finalization of a complete set of project documentation, etc.) are taken up.

SYSTIME’s Upgrade Accelerators

Upgrade Lab: Successful upgrades require a substantial amount of upgrade-specific knowledge and expertise. SYSTIME’s Upgrade Lab does POCs on latest versions of JDE for release impact and takes up R&D activities on risk mitigation using proven and repeatable processes. These quick and flexible processes help customers maximize the benefits and cost savings through an upgrade.

Reusable Component Factory: With over 17 years of JD Edwards experience, SYSTIME has built deep expertise in almost every combination of environments possible. Leveraging this knowledge, we have built several reusable upgrade components on working systems. These accelerators not only speed up delivery timelines for the customer but also minimize risk.
