The Economic Times: 'SYSTIME Computer to set up 3 global delivery centres in India'

SYSTIME Computer Systems, the 100% subsidiary of the $170-million CMS group, is investing $15-20 million to set up three global delivery centres in India. SYSTIME, which currently contributes 20% to group revenues, also plans to increase its headcount from 800 to 3,000 people over the next two years. It will soon open a marketing office in Europe, although it has not yet identified the location.

“We currently have a global delivery centre in Mumbai and today, we have officially inaugurated the Pune delivery centre. We will start the Chennai delivery centre by October 2007. The current 200-seater facility at Pune is insufficient to staff the people according to our growth projections. Hence, we will also go for expansion of our facilities at Pune, Mumbai and Chennai to house 1,000 people at all the locations. The Mumbai expansion will be done soon while the second Pune facility is expected to come up by March 2008,” said Tushar Mehta, VP, global delivery, SYSTIME.

With an investment of $3 to 5 million, Pune delivery centre will look after the company’s Indian businesses for ERP, business intelligence and technological solutions.

SYSTIME is also looking to open delivery centres in the Middle and Far East. “We are currently evaluating the possibility of starting a delivery centre in Singapore, China or Dubai. We could acquire a company if there is a business requirement,” said Mr Mehta.
