The Hindu Business Line: 'SYSTIME sets up global delivery centre in Pune'.

The Hindu Business Line, February 21, 2007.

The Pune facility would take in an investment of close to $5 million.

SYSTIME, a CMS group company, player in the business intelligence space, has set up its global delivery centre in Pune. Talking to press persons, Mr. Tushar Mehta, Vice-President, Global Delivery, said this is the second GDC facility in the country, the first one is in Mumbai.

He said the company is also planning to set up another GDC in Chennai, which may be set up by October. It would have a seating capacity of about 150 in the initial phase, which would be ramped up to 1,000 within a couple of years.

Mr. Mehta said Pune would be the second largest facility. The facility, set up in Bhugaon, has a seating capacity for 200 people, which would also be ramped up to accommodate 1,000 people.

He said there are plans to set up second facility in Pune in the same premises, which would be operational by March 2008. Mr. Mehta pointed out that currently 50 people are on its rolls and it would touch 90 by March 2007. He noted that its entire capacity of 200 seats would be utilised by December.

Offshore clients

He said the Pune GDC would handle offshore clients for its BI, JD Edwards, Oracle ERP and Open Systems practices. Mr. Mehta said a total investment of $15 million has been earmarked for its expansion in three locations - Mumbai, Pune and Chennai.

He said the second facility in Pune would take in an investment of close to $5 million and noted that it was scouting for setting up GDCs in Hyderabad and New Delhi. Plans are also on the anvil for setting up of GDCs on an international level. Mr Mehta said the location could be Singapore, Dubai or China.

He said that SYSTIME's turnover was $40 million and was targeting $100 million by 2008-09. Mr Tushar added that this was about 20 per cent of the group turnover, which is $200 million.
